Xiles — Discography

Genre: Punk Rock
Country: USA

The Xiles band is: Zephyr Handerson — Vocals, Clay Bolling — Guitar, Samantha Wallace, Cole Crehan, Logan Wilms & Dallas Jameson — Bass, Ty Bolling — Drums. The Xiles combine the raw aggression of early punk rock but with catchy and melodic delivery. Hailing from Frederick, Maryland, their sonic footprint was defined by their jagged yet bouncy punk melodies, carefully calibrated rhythms, and powerful vocals. Headlining and opening for such bands as Murphy’s Law, The Queers, US Bombs, The Undead, and The Independents, they were embraced by their fans for their upbeat punk rock songs interwoven with social mindedness and satirical jabs at themselves.

“We formed in February of 2017 in Frederick, Maryland where there was a common interest to play punk music. We come from a small but tight underground scene in Frederick, with a great history of punk, hardcore, metal, and indie, and we wanted to create a new generation of punk. We formed The Xiles because there’s a need for punk rock today; history is happening right now, and punk needs to magnify the current issues affecting the world.

Our songs are about life, about understanding yourself and the world around us. We know that anyone who listens to one of our songs are going to create their own meanings based on their own experiences and that is what connects the band to the listener. Our music comes from the heart which makes it so relatable. It’s about connection. It’s not what we sound like but how does it feel. There’s beauty in the joy, the rage, the sadness, and we embody all of that. However, we like to think our sound blends 80’s punk aggression while integrating some melodic overtones. We want to create something that’s our own sound and will hopefully be recognized as The Xiles’ sound.

We are about carrying on punk rock. Embracing the past but carving a future. What that means to us, is playing more shows, writing new songs, supporting our community, and connecting with like-minded people. Whether it is organizing and putting on a show for a new local skatepark, playing to raise awareness for drug addiction in our city or playing with our friends and having a party, it is about connecting with people and making a positive difference in our lives.” — The Xiles
The Xiles disbanded on July 26, 2021, after the death of guitarist, Clay Bolling at the age of 20, from a rare form of cancer.
