In 1996 Scrapy started as a classic punk band with Ska influences. Shortly afterwards, the quintet should quickly reach the size of a football team through the addition of a brass section!
Far removed from the ska-punk mix of the early days, the troupe created their own drawer and named it Streetska. Here it becomes very clear between beautiful, always slightly melancholy ska and Rocksteady numbers and rousing, combative oi-punk songs changed without either of the two varieties losing intensity and credibility. This also convinced the label owner Mad Mike of Mad Butcher Records, with whom the band has worked successfully ever since.
