Forming out of the ashes of what seems like a million long-forgotten Calgary bands, Porter Hall released two albums (Ten Month Soundtrack and Everything I Know Is Stolen) and appeared on numerous compilations before breaking up for good in 2000. Often lumped in with whatever passes for emo these days, Porter Hall are a band far from tame and derivative, displaying an intensity sorely lacking in most bands of the genre.
