Marathon was a pretty good melodic Punk Rock band from Upstate NY. They had a nice run from 2002 until their last show in 2006. Back by semi-popular demand, Marathon returns to the stage for 2 nights only (Feb 28th in Brooklyn, Mar 1st in Rochester) to play for some old friends and to have a good time.
Ex members of De La Hoya, Standfast, The Disaster, and Building On Fire form this hardcore powerhouse. Writing songs about the problems in the world around them, but not just preaching, Marathon’s lyrics are personal and moving. Their music is both aggressive and emotional, heavy and catchy. If this band doesn’t become one of the most important bands in punk rock and hardcore then something is wrong.
