Founded in 1995, First Eight was the first local band that could be associated with Ska, but with strong influences of punk and hardcore. First 8 play Ska with secret ingredients! The young ska band juggles with jazz, samba and of course punk and reggae influences in their show. Time and again, First 8 lures the dancing and celebrating audience out of reserve. «Well-timed Ska of the harder kind» inevitably leads to exuberant parties thanks to the very relaxed brass section!
«Ska + Punk + X». Under this motto, the 6-member formation First 8 1995 starts its music crusade through «the field of ska, reggae, rock, pop and punk». But what is behind it The answer: solid off-beat with reggae feeling, but also sometimes «jazzy passages», «powerful Mitgrol refrains», sweaty, but still danceable drum beats, «groovy» bass lines, «crisp brass sets», all with a high degree of melody. Their rousing performance as well as their individual interpretation of Ska quickly made First 8 a coveted live act. Whether as headliner or support for national and international sizes such as The Selecter, The Toasters, Loaded, Regatta 69, No Sports, Skaferlatine or Ednas Goldfish have always been able to captivate audiences.
